Stephanie Cheng-Kastelic
(Landscape Architect)

BA MLA

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Stephanie has always been captivated by the interplay between urban environments and the natural world. She pursued her passion for design early on, completing an undergraduate degree in architecture and fine arts before pursuing a Masters in Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto. After graduating, she joined Moriyama & Teshima Planners (MTP), where she was involved in the design and revitalization of watersheds and their surrounding communities globally. Following her time at MTP, Stephanie joined the award-winning Toronto firm, Janet Rosenberg & Studio. Here, she worked on a diverse range of projects, from private residential gardens to public parks and high-rise residential amenity spaces, all of which showcased her versatility and deep understanding of both aesthetic and functional landscape design.

Stephanie has always felt a strong connection to the outdoors, which was strengthened when she moved to Halifax, where she was captivated by the rugged beauty of the Atlantic coastline. Stephanie believes that landscape design should tell a story that seamlessly weaves together the ecological, cultural, and programmatic elements of a place. Whether working on a large urban park or a small private garden, she is dedicated to creating spaces that are not only visually compelling but also deeply connected to the people and the land around them.
