Andrew Taylor
(Landscape Architect)
BES MLA
Having previously worked in Nova Scotia, Andrew has returned to Atlantic Canada from Toronto to join the Brackish team. Andrew brings a deep passion for landscape architecture that expresses local identity and enhances ecological integrity and resilience. After earning a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto where he received academic recognition, Andrew developed a strong connection to the Maritime region during his final year of the MLA program. Through his thesis project, he explored a site in Nova Scotia, and established a deepened appreciation for the region’s history, people, and landscapes.
In practice, Andrew has built a diverse portfolio of projects in Toronto spanning public realm, institutional, high-end residential, and mixed-use development through all phases of design, from early concept through to final implementation. This breadth of experience has given Andrew a holistic perspective, combining design thinking, communication, and technical knowledge with collaboration and project management experience. Andrew is particularly interested in how landscapes can integrate cultural narratives with natural processes, using engagement, research, and design to create meaningful, resilient, and enduring environments that support life.
