Kiana is a designer based in Toronto, where she’s currently completing her Master of Landscape Architecture at the Daniels’ Faculty of Architecture, Landscape + Design. Her journey into design began in secondary school woodshop, where hands-on work with materials sparked a lasting appreciation for detailed craftsmanship and sustainable practices. She went on to study Environmental Design at OCAD University, with a minor in Furniture Design, drawn to the ways design can shape how we move through and relate to the world around us. Having grown up in a family shaped by displacement, she’s long been attuned to the emotional and ecological layers of place, and how experiential design might help foster continuity, care, and connection between people and the land. Her current research moves between scales while responding to questions of memory, belonging, and stewardship. She joined Brackish for a summer internship in 2025, eager to gain hands-on experience and deepen her understanding of landscape design in practice.
